Torry David Winslow was born on 17 April 1798 in St. Albans, Franklin County, Vermont, a son of Jonathan and Polly (Spoor) Winslow; he married an unknown woman and had one child by her, Cornelia Marie Winslow and the unknown woman (wife) died; he married second, Theressa "Thurza" (Burns), Burrows as her second husband in 1822 in Sweden, Monroe County, New York; Torry died on 16 February 1873 in Wilton, Will County, Illinois, and is buried there. After Torry died in 1873, several of his family members decided to move back to New York State to live, including his wife, Theressa. Torry was the father of nine children, as follows:
1- Cornelia Marie Winslow - child from first marriage, born in 1817.
2- Florence Winslow
3- Chauncey Winslow
4- Ruth Winslow
5- Betsey A. Winslow
6- Richard Winslow
7- Phydelia Winslow
8- Alvira A. Winslow b. 1838 died after 1897.
9- Alanson "Alonzo" Winslow
