Grace Tester Arnette

Mrs. Grace Tester Arnette, 96, of Vilas, widow of Mr. Thomas Arnette, died Monday afternoon, April 22, 1996.

She was born May 10, 1899 in the Beaver Dam community of Watauga County, a daughter of Benjamin and Rebecca Cook Tester. She was a member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

Survivors include, one son, seven daughters, a son-in law, 30 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, 52 great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Susan Warren, a grandson, Mack Tester, a great-grandson, Tony Montgomery, five brothers, Charlie Tester, Artmas Tester. Millard Tester, Walter Tester and George Tester and five sisters, Victoria Harmon, Pearl Greene, Florence Harmon, Epsie Adams and Lora Glenn.

Services will be Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. The body will ie in state from 1-2 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev Carl Johnson, Rev Burmah Shore, the Rev. Carl Wilson and the Rev Harold Bennett. Burial will follow in the Lower Beaver Dam Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at Hampton Funeral Service.
