A great grandson provided information on Ruth and Hal Dufner. Hal was known to have farmed and ranched in the central Texas region. Some of the ranches were exotic game ranches and would usually have hunters visit. Hal would be a hunting guide and Ruth would do the cooking for the visitors. She was known as a great cook. For sure, Hal he knew cattle and horses and hunting. Ruth was known to be very close to an aunt; this aunt was a few years younger than Ruth, and this aunt operated a jewelry store in San Saba, TX.
Ruth and Hal Dufner, and one son Larry Hal Dufner, are buried in Wallace Creek Cemetery along the south fence about mid way back. Eva Mae Anderson Startz is believed to be buried in an unmarked grave near other Anderson family members near the Dufner's.
Ruth and Hal Dufner had three children: (1) Larry Hal Dufner 1/10/1943 San Saba, TX. 3/4/1990 bur. in Wallace Creek next to his parents (2) David Dean Dufner (3) Howard Wayne Dufner
