Charles (Shorty) Elton Borden, 80, Russellville, Ala., passed away Monday, June 23, 2008. He retired from Reynolds after 27 years.Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Spry Memorial Chapel. Brother Nick McSpadden will be officiating. Burial will follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Dorothy Mae Mitchell Borden; father, Robert Lee Cummings; mother, Ida Mae Borden Cummings; brother, Jack Cummings; sisters, Nell Rogers, Dorothy Borden and Dellie Presley.He is survived by his sons, Danny Wayne (Tiffany) Borden Sr., Thomas Elton (Kaye) Borden, Timothy Charles Borden; six grandchildren, Danny Wayne Borden II, Tiffany Mae Anne Borden, Tina (Ryan) Swinney, Tracy (Jamey) Prince, Christy Borden, Timothy Brian Borden; six great-grandchildren, Chase Swinney, Abby Swinney, Breanna Prince, MaKayla Prince, Malia Bunt, Tyler Bunt; brothers, Vern Cummings, Bob Cummings, Jerry Cummings; sister, Margaret Lovette; and a host of nieces and nephews.
