Lucille Heflin Ledford, 85, a resident of Dardanelle, formerly of Atkins, died Sunday, February 6, 2011, at her home.
She was born June 5, 1925, at Red Bluff to William and Inez Davidson. She was a member of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church and enjoyed crocheting, traveling and fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Virgil Orlen Heflin and Rex Wilson Ledford; two daughters, Melva Estes and Thelma Louise Heflin; two brothers, Lewis and Edward Davidson; and two sisters, Vera Pollard and Victoria Garrison.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. J. W. and Mary Heflin of Dover and James and Juanita Heflin of Dardanelle; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Glen Haney of Dardanelle and Retha and Ronnie Vangilder of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a brother, Virgil Davidson of West Covina, California; two sisters, Faye Miller of Riverside, California and Velma Thomas of California; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. C. W. Henderson and the Rev. Terry Thacker officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery north of Atkins under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers will be Truman, William, Arlin and Robert Swaffer, Junior Taylor and Lindsay Duvall. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Roush, Jonathan Holbrook and Ronnie Vangilder Jr..
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Shiloh Community Church or the 247 Community Church.
