Sarah Adkins


Mrs. Sarah Adkins, R. 6, died Friday afternoon at the Donna Nursing Home near Spencer, at the age of 93. She was the widow of Charles G. Adkins, who died in 1945.

A member of the Harmony Church of Christ, she is survived by 40 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.

She also leaves four daughters: Mrs. Bertha Sanders, R. 6; Mrs. Mary Chapin, 2431 S. Curry Pk.; Mrs. Bessie Hodson, S. Hwy. 37; and Mrs. Olive Troth, Indianapolis; three sons: William, R. 6; Wally, Indianapolis and Harold, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

A brother and sister survive, Oscar Hamm, Madison; and Mrs. Matilda Sumner, 1205 S. Fess; and three sons preceded her in death; Orville, Virgil and Ben Adkins.

Services are 3 p.m. Monday at the Harmony Church of Christ, Robert Fenton officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Leslie Peters and Mrs. John Patton, and burial follows in the Harmony Church Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. All granddaughters will serve as flower bearers.

Friends may call at the Day Funeral Home after noon Sunday.
