Mr. Joseph Dean Allison, 87, of Lebanon and formerly of Daviess County, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at Homewood Health Campus, Lebanon.
Mr. Allison was born on Sept. 15, 1923, in Washington, Ind., the son of Frederick L. and Margaret T. (Dayton) Allison. He attended Washington High School and was a farmer.
He married Wanda Lee Cox on July 23, 1961.
Mr. Allison was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, in Washington, where he was a trustee for many years.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Karen (Tom) Wire of Lebanon and Teresa (Bruce) Cummings of Bedford; and grandchildren, Nathan Wire, Allison Wire, Tricia Wire, Laura Cummings and Anna Cummings.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Katherine Peachee, Evelyn Berry and Esther Rench.
Visitation is from 12 to 1 p.m. today, Jan. 27, at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St., Washington. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Gill Chapel, with Pastor Philip Richardson officiating.
Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, in Washington.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Church Building Fund.
