"Jigs McClure"

FLINT – Services for Porter "Jigs" McClure, 94, Flint, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup, with the Revs. Robert Collins and Jimmy Brooks officiating.

Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Arp.

Mr. McClure died Aug. 29 in Tyler.

He was born May 7, 1910, in Knox County to the late Frank Wade and Gertrude Cooper McClure. He lived in Troup for 20 years prior to moving to Flint 22 years ago. He was a retired carpenter, and a member of Church of God, Prophecy, in Tyler, where he was the oldest deacon. He was preceeded in death by a son, Donald Eugene McClure; two grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Lela Stephens McClure, Flint; son, Bill McClure, Flint; daughters, Wanda Chumley, Whitehouse, and Ann Visser, Edmund Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Rayford Johnson, Chad McClure, Lukus Green, Zackary Green, Sidney McClure and Jerry McClure.

Family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
