WIDOW OF HOSPITAL ORGANIZER, 78, DEAD
Mrs. Minnie French, 78, widow of Dr. Samuel W. French, died Sunday at her home, 616 Prospect Ave., after a six-week illness of heart disease. She lived here about 50 years, coming with her husband, who was one of Milwaukee's first physicians and an organizer of Emergency hospital, from Danvers, MA., her birthplace.
Mrs. French was prominent in social and club work until several years ago. She was a member of the D.A.R. Dr. French died in June, 1917.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Inez F. Quarles; two sons, Atty. Louis O. and Samuel L. French, all of Milwaukee and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30am at the home. The Rev. Holmes Whitmore, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church, will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetary. Pallbearers will be her two sons; Louis, Charles, and James Quarles; and P.C. McNulty.
