Born Feb. 14, 1925, in Summerton, S.C., he was the son of the late Prince Myer and Annie Fludd Benbow.
He was the husband of Dora Mae Newman Benbow, his wife of 56 years.
He was a retired custodian for the Baltimore County Board of Education and years ago he had been a farmer. He was a member of Crosswind Church in Westminster.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Loretta Burnham and husband Larry of Severn, Harriett Bellerby and husband Harry, of Arnold, Alneatha Benbow, of Reisterstown, Alfreda Slaughter and husband Kirk, of New Castle, Del., Violetta Benbow, of Pikesville, and Darren Benbow, of Baltimore; a sister, Annie Trusell Pierce, of Manning, S.C.; a brother, Freddie Benbow, of Washington, D.C.; and 11 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by siblings Willie Jones, and Myer and Tommy Benbow.
Interment in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium
