DR. D. H. YOAKLEY DIES IN 60TH YEAR
Kingsport's First Dentist Had Suffered Second Stroke of Paralysis.
Dr. David Hughes Yoakley, the first dentist to settle in Kingsport, died Tuesday at midnight at his home at No. 627 Wanola avenue. Dr. Yoakley had suffered a stroke of paralysis Sunday, the second within recent months, and had been unable to speak since that time.
Dr. Yoakley was sixty years old and came to Kingsport nine years ago from fordtown.
The funeral services were conducted this morning by Dr. John H. Clifford, acting pastor of the First Baptist Church, and Dr. D. S. Hale, rector of the Episcopal Church. Burial was made in the family cemetery at Colby.
Dr. Yoakley is survived by his wife and nine children, most of whom live here. They are: Mrs. Joe Groseclose, of Kingsport; D. S. Yoakley of Pineville, Ky.; Mrs. Hudson Hunter, of Kingsport; M. B. Yoakley, of Kingsport; Miss Andrelle Yoakley, of Kingsport; P. R. Yoakley, of Kingsport; Miss Heloise Yoakley, of Kingsport, and Miss Mable Yoakley, of Kingsport.
