Edith M Rayburn, 84, of Point Pleasant, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born April 2, 1917, in Point Pleasant, she was a daughter of the late James Albert and Ivy Agnes (Wheeler) McCarty. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Rayburn Sr.; brother, James McCarty Jr.; two sisters, Mabel Carver and Kathleen Oliver; and a granddaughter, Angela Walker.
She was a homemaker and retired licensed practical nurse at Lakin Hospital.
Surviving are seven daughter, Delores J (Frank) Beckner, Sharon (Jim) Hargraves, Mary (Tom) Beckner, Marlene (Sonny) Reynolds, all of Point Pleasant, Carol (Don) Walker of Henderson, Sally (Roger) Taylor of Letart, Dianne (Terry) Wallis of Gallipolis Ferry; two sons, Everett (Pam) Rayburn Jr., Donald "Sammy" (Lana) Rayburn, both of Point Pleasant; one sister, Hazel Brown of Flatwoods, Ky.; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 pm Wednesday at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with the Rev. Charles Mash officiating. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery, Point Pleasant.
