Charles Alexander Bonner Jr., 85, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at his home. Born Jan. 10, 1926, in Kittanning, he was a son of the late Charles A. Sr. and Margaret I. (George) Bonner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther J. (Nameche) Bonner. Charles was a Navy veteran having served during both World War II and the Korean War. He was retired from PPG Industries, Carlisle. Charles was a member of First Lutheran Church, Carlisle, as well as BPOE Lodge No. 244, American Legion, VFW, Masonic Lodge and the Carlisle Country Club. He enjoyed playing golf, boating, hunting and fishing. Surviving are a son, Charles Alex Bonner III; a daughter, Lisa Ann Hoerner; a sister, Mary Pauline Miller; two brothers, Joe Bonner and Harry Bonner; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be private. Arrangements by AUER CREMATION SERVICES OF PA, INC., Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to his church, 21 South Bedford St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
