Obit: Dorothy J. Hunwardsen, a resident of Winton for 37 years, died Monday at a local health care facility. She was born June 4, 1920, in Ida Grove, Iowa. She was a cannery worker for eight years. Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Ellison of Arkansas, and Ellen and Peggy Hunwardsen, both of Winton; sons, Lyle Hunwardsen of Bakersfield, Leo Hunwardsen of Washington and Larry Hunwardsen of Winton; a sister, Fern Peterson of Ida Grove, Iowa; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Visitation was held at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home in Atwater, California. A chapel service was held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral homewith The Rev. Gary Martin officiating. Burial followed in the Winton District Cemetery.
