Katherine Moses

Katherine Imogene Thomas Moses, 82, of Athens, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Etowah Health Care Center.

A daughter of the late William Pinkney and Adalou Hill Thomas, she was a member of Dixon Avenue Baptist Church and the Etowah Order of the Eastern Star. She retired as a seamstress, and was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Browder Moses; five sisters, Agnes, Aliene, Dorothy Hughes, Margaret Crowe and Billie Goforth; and three brothers, Slim, Red and Clyde Thomas.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Barbara Moses of Athens; four grandchildren and their spouses, Candy and Robert Burk of Vonore, and Shaye and Jason Rogers, Greg Moses and Lacie and John Haren, all of Athens; seven great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Betty Moses of Etowah; two sisters-in-law, June Moses of Athens, and Martha Moses of Dalton, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were 3:30 p.m. Friday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Watson officiating. Burial followed in Green Hill Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Greg Moses, Jason Rogers, Robert Burk, John Haren, Roger Farley and Jerry Shadden.

There was no formal visitation.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah was in charge of arrangements.
