Mrs. Mary K Pletcher one of Howard's best known residents, died Saturday afternoon at her home of complications following a stroke suffered five days before. Mrs. Pletcher suffered a severe head injury at the time of the stroke when she struck a stone wall in the barn at the rear of her home. Several hours after she became unconscious and remained in a coma until the time of her death. She was 91.
The deceased who lived all her life in Howard was the widow of William B Pletcher. She was a lifelong member of the Howard Methodist Church and belonged to several societies of the church.
Mrs. Pletcher was born in Howard May 19, 1862, the daughter of Jacob and Matilda Wetzler Pletcher. Two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Long at home and Mrs. Philip Holter of Howard survive in addition to two grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters
Mrs. Maggie Breth of Fredonia, NY, Joseph G of Bellwood, Mrs. Eliza Leitch of Islet, NY, Chauncey and Charles B Pletcher, both of Howard.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock in the Methodist Church at Howard with Reverend Wallace Cummings officiating. Interment will take place in Schencks Cemetery, Howard.
The following, all nephew of Mrs. Pletcher will act as pallbearers: Arthur Schenck, Walter Pletcher, Walter Gallagher, Walter Daughenbaugh, Thomas Daughenbaugh and Samuel H Pletcher, all of Howard.
