"WILLIAM LEE ROY WREN. -- William Lee Roy Wren died at State Hospital in Jacksonville on Friday, February 19, 1943. He had been in poor health for more than a year and recently was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Funeral services were held at Jonathan Creek church northeast of Sullivan, Sunday February 21, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. E. Blankenship of Decatur. Interment was in Jonathan Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Wren was born to Mr. & Mrs. William Thomas Wren on September 1, 1901, near Findlay. He was united in marriage to Miss Nola Isaacs of Sullivan on October 1, 1929. He united with the Baptist church of Oak Grove about 8 years ago. Two sisters and two brothers and his father, preceded him in death. Besides his mother and wife, he leaves four brothers, O. K. Wren of Dixon, Illinois, Earl Wren of Windsor, W. B. Wren of Essex and PFC Charles Wren of Camp Shelby Mississippi. He also leaves two sisters; Mrs. Mae Burrus of Appearson, Oklahoma and Mrs. Olive Dilley of Windsor. Also many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Walter Talcott of Effingham, who is his grandmother; Mrs. & Mrs. Chloie Kite and children, Mr. & Mrs. Herman Steele and baby girl, and Mr. & Mrs. Bill Incman, Mrs. Maude Kite and daughter, Ruby, all of Effingham; PFC Charles Wren of Camp Shelby, Mississippi. He also leaves many friends, aunts and uncles."
