WALKER
Services for Mary Ida Walker, 84, 736 Standpipe Rd., will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Sunset Church of Christ with Ric Thompson of the Southside Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
She died Tuesday at her residence.
Born in Altus, Okla., she moved near Weed, N.M. when she was a small child. She attended school there and then moved to Carlsbad in 1936. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons, Earnest, Portales, Johnny, Carlsbad, and Bobby, Hearford, Texas; six daughters, Mary Lunsford, Edna Vest, Thelma Ferguson, all of Carlsbad, Bernice Grimes, San Angelo, Texas, Beatrice White, Dark Canyon, Tenie Theobald, Aorbin, Calif.; a sister, Edna Walker, Carlsbad; and 39 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and other grandchildren and friends are to consider themselves as honorary pallbearers.
