Mrs. Emma Young, age 100,
longtime resident of the Oak
Grove community, passed away
Tuesday morning in National
Nursing Home at Lafayette.
Born March 7, 1870, in Illinois,
she was married in 1892 to Christian
Young. He died in 1936. She
was a member of the Oak Grove
Christian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.
Florence Redding of Rt. 2, Monticello;
a son, Raymond Young of
Harvey, Ill.; four grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandchild, and two
sisters, Mrs. Nettie Miller of Rt.
2, Monticello, and Mrs. Ella Murphy
of Monticello.
The Rev. Larry Cowan Will officiate
at services Thursday at
11 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home in
Monticello. Interment will be in
Riverview Cemetery.
