Lawrence "Skillet" Barlow, 64, of Roanoke, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 29, 2011. He was born on November 11, 1946, to the late Ottie Mae and Walter J. Barlow Sr. He was preceded in death by siblings, Frances, Esterline and James Barlow Sr. Survivors include children, Eric (Trina) Richardson, of South Carolina, Kelvin Richardson (Daddy Rich) and Sheneka "Baba" Moss, of Roanoke; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (Lynn) Arrington Sr. and Mary Jane Wilson; one brother, Walter June (Ann) Barlow Jr.; a companion, Sandra Harley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Serenity with the Rev. Dwight O. Steele Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Botetourt Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Friends may call at Serenity on Friday, February 4, 2011, from noon to 8 p.m. for viewing.
