Charles A Hatch President of Water Co., Dies Suddenly
Charles A Hatch, president of the Stamford Water Co., and one of Stamford, most prominent citizens, dropped dead in his office shortly after noon today. Although the cause of death had not been given out at press hour, It is thought he died of heart disease. Dr. Samuel Pierson, the family physician, was called immediately, but Charles died shortly after he arrive. Charles is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lily Squires Hatch; His wife Alice Gillespie Hatch; three daughters, Gertrude, Emily & Marion Hatch all of Stamford; two brothers Edward Hatch & Arthur Hatch.

Born in Stamford, Mr. Hatch attended the King School and graduated from Princeton in the late nineties. He entered the brokerage business in New York with his father, who was connected with the firm of William B Beekman & Co. Following the death of his brother, Edward six years ago, Charles was made general manager of the Stamford water CO., and when his father died last fall he succeed to the presidency of the organization. He was a member of the Stamford Yacht Club, the Rotary Club, the Woodway Club and the Suburban Club. He was a director of the Stamford Trust Co., and the Citizens Saving Bank.
