Raymond J Boegel, 81, of St. Kilian went to his heavenly home Saturday, December 13th, 2008, at Hospice Home of Hope with his loving family gathered around. He was the last member of his generation of the Boegel family.

Ray was born June 2, 1927, on the Boegel family farm, Town of Ashford, the son of Raymond J & Catherine (Schrauth) Boegel. He married Grace A Volm on May 13, 1950 at St. Kilian Catholic Church, St. Kilian where he has been a life long member and served as an usher and choir member.

For most of his life Ray worked the Boegel centennial family farm in Town of Ashford. After retiring from farm life, he was employed by Campbellsport Public Schools in custodial/maintenance and drove school bus.

Ray was a 50 year member of the Catholic Knights, serving 30 of those years as Social Secretary. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Casper Rehrl #1964, West Bend and the St. Kilian Holy Name Society.

Ray enjoyed time with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, hunting, fishing, dancing and old time music, especially polkas and waltzes.

He is survived by his beloved wife Grace, his children, David (Nancy) Boegel, Mary (Bob) Twohig both of Campbellsport, Dorothy (Rich) Leider of De Pere, Margie (Ronie) Stommel of Theresa, Cathy (Tim) Flood of Mt. Calvary, Pauline (Gary) Runge of Fond du Lac and Geralyn (Ray) Maurer of West Bend, 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Allen Reindl of Kewaskum and sister-in-law, Betty Schrauth of Campbellsport, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first grandson Brian Leider, father and mother-in-law Philip & Theresa Volm, brothers Adelbert (Barbara) Boegel and Reinhold (Dolores) Boegel, sisters Rosemarie (Edwin) Amerling and Louisiana Reindl, brother-in-law, Elroy Schrauth.

Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday. December 17th at 7:00 PM at St. Kilian Catholic Church, St. Kilian (N189 County Rd. W Campbellsport). Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will be Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 PM until time of mass at the church. Memorials are appreciated to St. Kilian Church or the American Cancer Society

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Tom, Father Neil, and the staff of Hospice Home Care and the Hospice Home of Hope for the care and concern shown to Ray during his final months.
