Mr. Carroll is survived by three sons: Ervin, Hewell and Leamon, all of Huntsville; one daughter, Talaytha Norris of Huntsville; one brother, Wiley Carroll of Sunbright; four half-sisters: Cassie Jones of Oliver Springs, Nancy Phillips of College Corner, O., Angeline Davis of Texas, and Ivalee Shoopman of Smokey Junction; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Fairview Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 18, with Rev. Edmond Lowe officiating. Burial was in the Rector Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home in LaFollette was in charge of arrangements. (Source: The Scott County News, 21 Apr 1988, p10)
