Callaway County, Missouri - May 5, 1894, George D. Hart died at his residence near High Pont church, of lung fever. He was born February 1831 in Randolph County, Virginia; he came to Missouri in 1849. He married Mary J. Hart in 1852. He settled first in Montgomery County then removed to Callaway County in 1892. He was a member of the GAR, having served nearly two years in the late war. He leaves a wife, two daughters and two sons, many grandchildren. He was buried at High Point Church Cemetery.
