Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Jenkins, 83, were to be held Oct. 23 at Bethany Presbyterian Church near Carroll. Mrs. Jenkins died Oct. 20 at Wayne Hospital.

Rev. Gail Axen officiated at the rites. Organ selections were furnished by Mrs. John Rees. Pallbearers were Tom and Erwin Morris, Lester Marsden, Lewis and Glen Jenkins and Evan Williams. Burial was in Bethany Church Cemetery.

Emily Morris, daughter of John and Ellen Morris, was born Feb. 9, 1885 at Wymore, Nebr. When she was a child she moved with her family to Wayne County. She was married Aug. 3, 1904 to Sam Jenkins at Wayne. The couple farmed near Carroll. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Jenkins remained in the Carroll community.

She was also preceded in death by two daughters, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include three sons, Morris of Wayne, Merlin of Carroll and Ronald of Lakewood, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Ester Batten and Cora Jenkins of Carroll, and Mrs. Etta Fisher, Wayne; a brother, Edwal Morris; a sister, Mrs. Jane Edwards; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
