Mercelle A. Howard, 89 of Llano went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2010. She was born April 28, 1921 to William Guy & Edna (Rogers) Alexander in Llano County. She was preceded in death by her husband James Howard of Llano.
She is survived by daughter Jo Nell Owen of San Antonio and her son Tommy Burke of Llano; step-daughter Winnie Myers & husband Harold of Llano; step-sons Charles Howard & wife Doris of Llano and Roger Dale Howard of Mt. Belleview.
She was referred to as "Granny" by her grandchildren Cindy Ray & Husband Rick of Missouri, Steve Owen, William Owen, and John Owen all of San Antonio, Janet Hackworth & husband Jason of Llano.
She is also survived by her brother Jack Alexander & wife Alma of Ft. Worth; her sister Bobbie Jean Moore & husband Jim of Llano and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends.
Mercelle was very loved and respected by all.
Graveside services were held Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Board Branch Cemetery in Lone Grove with Reverend Stan Troy officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Llano County Library at 102 E Haynie St., Llano, TX 78643.
Funeral arrangements made under the direction of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes, Inc. Llano, Texas.
