JAMES H. BURRESS PASSES AWAY
The many friends of James H. Burress, a good citizen of the Piney Grove community, will deeply regret to hear of his death which occurred at his home last Thursday, following an attack of acute indigestion. He was about 66 years of age and had resided in that community for many years.
He was twice married (not correct) and was the father of 15 children (also incorrect), ten of whom survive. He was not a member of any church, but believed in the principles of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held at Piney Grove and were conducted by Elder Estes of Corinth. The body was then laid to rest in the Piney Grove Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife and six sons, Jesse, Lee, Fletcher, Vernon, Willie and Roy and four daughter, Mrs. Pearl Johnson, Mrs. Ace Davis, Mrs. Effie May Thorn, and Mrs. Verval Massengill and one sister, Mrs. Alice Bearden.

Note: His first wife was Lucy A.L. Jacobs who died ca 1895 after ca 5 years of marriage. Her death place was either Louisiana or Arkansas. She died due to childbirth complications having Jessie Burress.
James Henry "Jim" Burress then came back to Prentiss County, Mississippi and married Lucy's sister, Mary Emma Jacobs.
