CHERRYVALE - Mrs Millie Lee who lived at 226 W 1st in Cherryvale died Thursday in Mercy Hospital in Independence where she had entered 11 weeks ago. Mrs Lee, 80, operated the Lee Theatre in Cherryvale for 15 years and the White Spot Cafe for 27 years. She was born on May 24, 1892 in Lockwood, Mo., to Thomas H and Emily Pepee Quarles. She was the ninth of 12 children. She and R O Lee were married on May 27, 1909 at Colby. He died on June 7 1969. Mrs Lee was a member of the First Christian Church in Fredonia. She is survived by a daughter Mrs Geraldine Milliken of Lakewood Calif and a brother John R Quarles of Las Animas Colo. She was preceded in death by a daughter and 10 brothers and sisters. The Sisters of Mercy will say a rosary at 7 o'clock tonight in the Wayne Darling Funeral Home here. Services will be held at 11 am Monday at the funeral home with Bob Brock Christian minister officiating. Burial will be in Fredonia cemetery.
