John Hoeller, an old resident of near Vienna passed away Wednesday, July 10. Burial was made July 11 in the Catholic Cemetery in Vienna.

John's parents Johan George and Barbara (Richter)Hoellerer immigrated from Bavaria through Bremen on ship Itzstein-Welcker to the US, arrived New Orleans 12-18-1856. John was their first American child. He was born in what at the time was the Rich Fountain Area. Now it would be closer to Freeburg. But he is in the records at Sacred Heart. John married Maria (Mary) Anna Kloeppel (abt 1860.)31 Jan 1882 at Sacred Heart Parish in Rich Fountain. John and brothers Joseph and Frank decided to drop the extra er off their name. Although Frank's tombstone bears his birth name Franz Hoellerer many records reflect the Hoeller name. As well as some "interesting" spellings from census takers.
