Service is pending at West Funeral Home for Etta Mae Simmons, 74, 511 S. Fifth St. She died Wednesday at her residence.
She was born Sept. 9, 1916, in Crockett, Texas. She married Jodie Simmons in Pecos, Texas, in 1971 and they moved to Carlsbad the following year.
Mrs. Simmons was employed as a health care aide before her retirement. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include her widower of the home; four sons, Linvel Mosby Jr., Nathaniel Mosby and Jimmie Simmons, all of Carlsbad and Jodie Simmons Jr., Amarillo, Texas; three daughters, Wilinda Barton, Carlsbad, Josie Foster, Amarillo, Texas, and Gloria Ohuona, Nigeria; three brothers, Boyd Wagner, Phoenix, Dillard Wagner, Crockett, Texas, and W.B. Wagner, Grapeland, Texas; one sister, Mariah Campbell, Houston; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
SIMMONS
Service for Etta Mae Simmons, 74, 511 South 5th St., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at West Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Columbus Lewis of the Church of God in Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Mrs. Simmons died Wednesday at her home.
Pallbearers will be Linvel Mosby Jr., Ernesto Toscano, Questin Barton, Larry Mosby, Quintel Barton and Jodie Simmons.
