Veteran Engineer Dies
W. R. Rollings, Retired Railroad Man, Succumbs in East Lake
W. R. Rollings, 79, of 8340 Second Avenue South, L. & N. engineer for 42 years, died at his residence Monday night. Funeral services will be held there at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Luquire in charge.
Mr. Rollings retired from active service two years ago on account of his health. He is survived by four sons, E. O., Louisville; O. S., Montgomery; O. E. and R. L., Birmingham; three daughters, Mrs. F. G. [Flora] Nichols, Birmingham; Mrs. F. G. [Willie] Cheek, Colorado; and Mrs. W. R. [Sarah] Keys, Baton Rouge; two brothers, G. Rollings, Paris, Tex. and Sam Rollings, Lewisburg, Tenn; two sisters, Mrs. Alonzo [Nancy E] Ketchum, Nashville, and Mrs. Eugene [Anne] Adams, Lewisburg, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
