VETERAN Iola LAWYER DEAD AT 90
Guy E. Pees, 90, 518 East Madison, a longtime Iola Attorney, died this morning at Sterling Heights Manor. Mr. Pees had been in failing health for several years.
Mr. Pees was born on a farm northwest of Iola October 28, 1879. He received his law degree from the University of Kansas in 1905 and practiced law in Iola for 61 years until his retirement in 1966. He was a member of the Bar Association and the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Pees of the home; a son, Dr. Gerald Pees, Iola; a daughter Mrs Ronald (Kathryn) Stitt, Prairie Village; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Thursday at the Waugh-Yokum Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland.
