Mr and Mrs J.B. Pees the neighbors have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement caused by the sad accident resulting in the death of their son Elmer, aged 10 years. On Saturday evening last, Elmer stepped in the stable suddenly and startling a unusually mild and gentle horse, causing the horse to kick, striking the boy and injuring him so seriously that Dr. Chastain was at once called, but despite all that could be done for him the little sufferer died. The funeral services were held at the house Monday morning. A large concourse of friends with the bereaved parents followed the remains to the Piqua cemetery where they were interred.
