END COMES AT HOME ON GARRISON EARLY TODAY
Funeral of Well-Known Carthage Woman Will Be Held Saturday Afternoon
Mrs. Laura Dobbins Campbell, 72, widow of L. B. Campbell and mother of Mrs. Lloyd B. Clinton, passed away at 2:20 o'clock this morning at the Campbell home, 715 South Garrison.
Heart trouble, complicated by other ailments from which Mrs. Campbell had been suffering several years, caused her death. She had been unconscious since last Monday when she took a turn for the worse.
A resident of Carthage 32 years, Mrs. Campbell was well-known and was active in several women's clubs of the city until the last year when her health caused her to give up most of her social life. She was a member of the N.N.C. at the time of her death.
Mr. and Mrs. Campbell came to Carthage from Seneca. He was in the mercantile business here, being a member of the firm of the Campbell-Wright Mercantile Company, which operated a department store many years ago. Mr. Campbell passed away December 30, 1928.
She was born October 27, 1859 in Columbia, Tennessee. She was married to Mr. Campbell in Union City, Tennessee November 6, 1889.
Surviving besides Mrs. Clinton is another daughter, Mrs. Geneva Mann of Kansas City, a brother, James P. Dobbins of New York, and three grandchildren, Mary Ann Clinton and Dorothy and Fred Mann, the two latter of Kansas City. Mrs. Mann is here and her two children are expected Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Campbell home. The body will be placed in the mausoleum in Park Cemetery. (bio by NJBrewer)
