"The death of Mrs. Jennie H. Coleman, widow of Arthur Coleman, of No. 88 Beaver street, Cooperstown, occurred at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital at 11:45 o'clock, Saturday night, following a very brief illness of septicemia. Mrs. Coleman had not been in good health for some time but her condition was not regarded as serious until Friday night when she became much worse and a physician was called Saturday morning she became unconcscious and was taken to the hospital for treatment but passsed away before regaining consciousness. Mrs. Coleman was the daughter of William and Celestia (Chase) Bliss and was born in the town of Hartwick, August 26, 1861. She resided in that town and in Otego until a short time after her marriage, to Mr. Coleman forty-seven years ago and since that time she has made her residence in Cooperstown where she was held in highest esteem and affection by a wide circle of friends. Mr. Coleman died about 4 years ago. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. William Prentice of Ilion; two brothers, Frank N. Bliss of Middlefield and Wilburn N. Bliss of Toddsville; two daughters, Mrs. George Conover and Miss Blanche Coleman of Cooperstown; two sons, Lester A. Coleman and Floyd H. Coleman of Syracuse; eleven grandchildren and one great-grand daughter, besides many nephews, nieces and cousins ... burial was made at Lakeview Cemetery at Richfield Springs."
