Donald Clifton Wade

Donald Clifton Wade, 64, died Saturday, July 10, 1999, at Johnson Memorial Hospital. He was a resident of Edinburgh.

He was born Dec. 19, 1934, in McKinney, Ky. His parents were Nevious Clifton and Ina B. (Douglas) Wade. He married Annie M. Fitch on March 28, 1953, in Jeffersonville, Ky. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Doris A. Feese of Columbus and Vera M. Olmstead of Edinburgh; four sons, Donald R. Wade of North Vernon, Robert L. Wade and Roger D. Wade, both of Edinburgh, and Bruce D. Wade of Franklin; three sisters, Myrtle Hazelwood and Vivian Hobdy, both of Indianapolis, and Martha Jenkins of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Ronald Wade of Beech Grove; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Verna Sutt, Ruth Hobdy and Gerri Baily; and one brother, Henry D. Wade.

He was employed at Plant One on the block line at Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus, retiring in 1987 after 20 years of service.

He was a member of the Diesel Workers Union and Edinburgh Full Gospel Church. He served as a deacon in the church and also enjoyed woodworking and small-engine repair.

The Rev. Douglas Smith will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Edinburgh Full Gospel Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
