AURORA CARRASCO
LOVING--Funeral mass for Aurora Acosta Carrasco, 73, of South 3rd, will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery.
A vigil will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. in West Funeral Home Chapel.
She died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at Carlsbad Medical Center.
West Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Aurora Acosta Carrasco was born Sept. 15, 1925, in Carlsbad to Jose and Clara Acosta. She was raised and received her education in this area also.
She married Elias V. Carrasco in 1966.
Mrs. Carrasco was a long time member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Loving. She had been employed by the Eddy County Community Action Corporation as a meal site manager in Loving for 16 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include a daughter, Dora Madrid, of Carlsbad; brothers, Abelardo Acosta of Modesto, Calif., and George Acosta of Carlsbad; sisters, Anita Jacquez and Azucena Rostro of Carlsbad and Frances Carrasco of Loving; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie Jacques Jr., Joe Jacquez, Mario Carrasco, Manuel Barragan, Bobby Rostro and Lisa Schierhold.
