Houston Chronicle, Houston, Texas, April 18, 1924: "HAYS - Arthur Hays, 72, of 1112 Austin died at his residence Saturday at 10 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Paralee Hays; three daughters, Mrs. L. M. Graham, Mrs. R. J. Lindley, Mrs. Arnold Erwin; a son, James A. Hays; a sister, Mrs. Eva Easterly, all of Houston. he was born in Ingleside, Texas, and had been a resident of Houston for the past 22 years.
