Mrs Mary Gibbs dies suddenly.
Mrs Mary Gibbs died at her home in Jackson at 1:00 Wed morning. The end came unexpectedly. She was the wife of Mr. Julius Gibbs who resided a few miles west of Grenada until his death about 15 years ago. Mrs Gibbs had passed the four score mark.
Mary Temperance Pulliam Gibbs was the daughter of Theophilus Wilson Pulliam (1805 Oxford, Granville Co, NC - 1845 Oxford Co, MS) and Elizabeth Ann Butler Pulliam who married Dabney B Phillips (3 Dec 1809 Oxford, Granville Co, NC - 12 Jul 1865 Oxford Co, MS). Her ancestors include many early Virginia families including Henfield, Clark, Patterson, Hall, Wilson and Bott. Also included is a Charles Edward Bruce (b abt 1600) who may be a descendant of Lord Bruce Earl of Kinloss of Scotland.
Other children include Mary Blackwell Gibbs, Theophilus Pulliam Gibbs (m Mary Betty Ryan), Julius Shelby Gibbs, Edward Fitzgerald Gibbs, Kate Hughes Gibbs (James Ransom Mauldin), John Dickens Gibbs (m Josephine Klein), Henry Webb Gibbs (m Augusta L Long), and Mary Steel Gibbs (W W Ward)
