Robert J. Blanck, 71, a resident of N8804 Gladstone Beach Road, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at St. Agnes hospital.
He was born April 7, 1928, in Marytown, a son of the late Benjamin and Alvina Schoenborn Blanck. On Oct. 18, 1948, he married Hazel Merten. They farmed in Johnsburg area and operated Blanck's Supper Club, Johnsburg, until their retirement.
Robert was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Johnsburg, and its Holy Name Society. He was a founding member of Sturgeon for Tomorrow and a 35-year member of Eagles Aerie 270. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel; a daughter, Cheryl Hammer; sons, Bob (Barb), Charles (Nancy), Kevin (Kay) and Dale Blanck; a sister Luella (Don) Vorpahl; a brother, Howard Blanck; grandchildren, Alvin and Christine Hammer, Beth, Brenda, Carven (Juli), Benjamin, Samuel, Michael, Victoria, Ashley, Stacy, Scott and Stephen Blanck; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Samantha, Connor and Taylor Blanck. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Melissa Blanck; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Blanck.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 9:45 a.m. Friday at Zacherl Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Johnsburg. The Rev. Walter Orzechowski will officiate. Entombment will be at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Cemetery. Visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where a parish vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in his name will be established. Zacherl Funeral Home is serving the family.
