Esther B. Brewer
Esther Barbara Brewer, age 101, formerly of Joplin passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at her daughters's home in Amherst, Mass., where she had been a resident since 1999.
Esther was born June 10, 1905, in Sarcoxie, Mo., daughter of the late Christian Bachtold and Emma Kempf Bachtold. She graduated from high school and worked for Four -State Biscuit from 1949 until 1973. she was also financial secretary for First Baptist Church, of Joplin, from 1972 through 1981. She was a member of First Baptist Church, of Sarcoxie. Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Brewer, a daughter, Barbara Johnson and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol, Marcum and husband, James, of Amherst, grandchildren, Eric Marcum, of Canada, Lara SantaMaria, of Deep River, Conn. and Sara Marcum of Virginia Beach, Va., great-grandchildren, Rebekah Marcum of Canada and Marcus SantaMaria and Brooks Robinson, both of Deep River, and eight nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at Sarcoxie First Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Brown officiating. Interment will be private at Forest Park Cemetery, Joplin, by Parker Mortuary.
The family request that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Sarcoxie.
