MARY HUNDLEY DOYLE
Mrs. Mary Hundley Doyle, 95, of Rt. 5. Martinsville died at 5:30 am Saturday at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
Mrs. Doyle was born in Henry County on Oct. 6, 1896 and lived all of her adult life in the Snow Creek Community of Franklin County. She was married to Richard Thomas Doyle, who died in 1937. Her parents were the late George W. Hundley and Sarah Hundley Hundley. She was the "mother" of 101 descendents Including nine children; 27 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren, and three great-great- grandchildren. She also was the oldest member of the Snow Creek Christian Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ira C.(Irene) Love of Rt. 2, Rocky Mount; Mrs. Inez Roberts of Collinsville, and Mrs. Robert T. (Helen) Woody of Rt. 5, Martinsville; six sons, George M. Doyle, Henry R. Doyle, Jesse S. Doyle. Windell A. Doyle and Peter T Doyle, all of Rt 5, Martinsville, and Herbert 0. Doyle of Eden, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Annie Stratton of Eden, and the grand, great, and great-great- grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Snow Creek Christian Church by the Revs. Berlin G. Hanks and Kenneth Leonard. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
