She is survived by eight daughters, Lisha Linnear, Sabrina Davis, LaTonya Jackson-Smith, Shanea Clay and LoTia clay all of Statesboro, Yvette Whitehead, Charleston, SC, Rosalind Stewart, Phoenix City, AL and Carol Cook, Walthourville, GA and five sons- in-law; five sons, David Lavar Lundy, Grant Thomas, Orentheus Thomas, Jermaine, Thomas and Andrew Perry Clay all of Statesboro; one daughter-in-law. In addition to her children she raised eight other children, David, Roderick, Jerry, Jeromy, Jakia, Davisha, Duante and Maurice; four sisters, Mary Roberts, Pembroke, Caroline Ford, Walterboro, SC, Terrance Mikell, Denise Hardy and Sharon Hill all of Statesboro; five brothers, Edward Lanier, Atlanta, David Lanier, Memphis, TN, Alton Lanier, Pembroke Wendell Lanier, Pulaski and Gregory Lanier, Statesboro; one aunt, Doretha Holt, Statesboro; three uncles, Herman, Theo and Earl Lanier all of Statesboro, 34 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Evangelist Clay will be held Sunday, January 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Elm Street Church of God with the pastor, Elder Alexander Smith, officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. James R. Barnes Mortuary.
