Mrs. E. T. Floyd

Barnesville, Sept 9--Funeral services for Mrs. E.T. Floyd, 70, were held last Sunday afternoon at Bethesda Church. Mrs. Floyd fell on sleep early Saturday morning at the home of her son David, following several days of illness. A native of Johnston County, deceased spent most of her life in this community, coming with her parents here at a very early age.
Rev J.E. Blalock, pastor of Bethesda Methodist Church of which Mrs. Floyd was a member, conducted the services. He spoke of her church life and her unfailing devotion to her church. This community has been fortunate in having had Mrs. Floyd live here. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by three sons, Marvin, David, and E.T. Floyd, Jr.; 1 brother, L.T. Collins; 19 grandchildren and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were B.W. Rhodes, J.A. Nye, R.W. Britt, Roy Ferrell, Kenneth Ferrell, Charlie Ferrell. Flower girls were Mesdames W.A. Floyd, J.A. Nye, J.S. Floyd, W.L. Floyd, R.C. Benton, Wilbur Johnson, W.M. Leggett, Misses Dorothy Ferrell, Doll Ferrell, Ester Bryant.
She was laid to rest beside her husband in the cemetery at the church.
