CHARLES PERRY ALLEN, BIOGRAPHY

On January 06, 1857, in Hawk Point, Lincoln County, Missouri, Charles Perry Allen was born to Henry Perry Allen and his wife Nancy Jeannette (Mosley) Allen.

December 26, 1907, Charles married Martha Lee "Mattie" Hartley. Mattie was born, February 06, 1882, in Troy, Lincoln County, Missouri. Mattie was the fifth child of Thomas D. Hartley and his wife Hannah Jane (Kirkhart ) Hartley.

Charles and Mattie had eight children: Hannah May Allen, Freeman Pearl Allen, Hiram Earl Allen, Jeanette Estelle Allen, Thomas Henry Allen, Eva Allen, Martha Vivian Allen, and Wilma Fern Allen. Census records indicate that Charles supported his wife and children working as a general farmer.

On June 08, 1930, while living in Hawk Point, Lincoln County, Missouri, Charles died. The Certificate of Death indicates that Charles died of Myocarditis. Myocarditis is inflammation or degeneration of the heart. Myocarditis may also be a complication during or after various viral, bacterial, or parasitic infectious diseases, or may appear as a primary disease in adults or as a degenerative disease of old age. Charles was 73 years old at the time of his death. Charles was buried on June 08, 1930, at the Cannon Cemetery, Hawk Point, Lincoln County, Missouri.

Charles' wife Martha Lee "Mattie" (Hartley) Allen, died on February 10, 1940, in Hawk Point, Lincoln County, Missouri. Mattie's Certificate of Death indicated that she died as a result of Cerebral Hemorrhage/Stroke. February 15, 1940, Mattie was buried next to her husband at the Cannon Cemetery, Hawk Point, Lincoln County, Missouri. They share a headstone.

One of the children preceded her parents in death, Eva Allen, died as an infant on December 23, 1916 and Wilma Fern Allen died March 31, 1939, after the death of her father and before the death of her mother, at only 17 years old, of heart failure. Both children are buried at the same cemetery as their parents, Cannon Cemetery, Hawk Point, Lincoln County, Missouri.
