DOUGLAS M. BOGENRIEF

Douglas Matthew Bogenrief, 91, of Sioux City died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at his residence.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Nativity, with the Rev. Gerald F. Feiergeil and Monsignor Michael D. Sernett officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at Larkin Morningside Funeral Home.

Mr. Bogenrief was born Dec. 10, 1907, in Westfield, Iowa, the son of Dougals O. and Charlotte (Mansfield) Bogenrief. He graduated from Liberty High School in Merrill, Iowa, and attended Morningside College.

He married Ann E. Mahaney on Nov. 19, 1929, in Ellendale, Iowa.

He retired as credit manager for Sioux Bee Honey Association in 1973.

He was a member of Church of the Nativity and the Men's Club and was a third degree Knights of Columbus. He was a semi-pro pitcher in the Sioux City area.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Douglas A. and wife, Alice B., of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Gary G. of Rockport, Mo.; six grandchildren, Gary Bogenrief, Linda Bogenrief Stein, Sherry Anders, Lori Wilzcek, Julie Imbarger and Margie Hendrickson; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Blasé Dennison; and four brothers, Francis, Eugene, Jack and Vincent.

Pallbearers will be Tom Dennison, Darrel Rowbury, Larry Mahaney, John Gurnink, Paul Kirwan and Michael Kohnen.
