Miss Laxson was born in Hillsboro, Texas, to the late Douglas Luther and Emma (Chastain) Laxson. She attended schools in Itasca, graduating from Itasca High School. She then attend 4-C Business College in Waco. Flogene worked in civil service for over 30 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed working on genealogy and was the family caretaker.
Flogene was preceded in death by brothers, Leonard H. Laxson and Joe Edwin Laxson; and sisters, Loveta Morton and Mildred Laxson.
Survivors include sister, Christine Willis, of Houston; five nephews; three nieces; a close family friend, Laverne Krueger Neal; and many other relatives and friends.
