Vera B. Hieser, 69, of 1207 South Edgewater Road, Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was formerly of Pekin.


Born December 17, 1931 in Dahinda to Ed and Lola Dawson Shafman, she married Albert R. Hieser on August 5, 1951 in Pekin. He survives.


Also surviving are three sons, Phillip Hieser of Dexter, Oregon, Keith (Mary Jean) Hieser of California, and Kevin (Loni) Hieser of Pekin; two daughters, Christy (Mike) McCoy of Peoria and Renee (Nick) Armstrong of West Plains, Missouri; and one brother, Louis Howard of Three Rivers, Texas.


Her parents and one sister, Lillian Smith, preceded her in death.


A homemaker, Mrs. Hieser was a member of the United Methodist Church in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and a former member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin. She was also a member of the Turkey Mountain Golf League, the Eagle's Club, and the Elk's Ladies, all of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.


Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
