Thomas J. Atkinson, 83, died Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John Knudsen, of natural causes.
Born Jan. 1, 1861, in England, he was a son of John and Mary Medford Atkinson. He came to Salt Lake City in April 1915, and was an active L D S church member.
Survivors include nine sons and daughters, Mrs. E. M. Rynearson, William C. Atkinson, George W. Atkinson and Mrs. Hyde Stauffer, Murray; Mrs. William H. Smith, Mrs. John Knudsen and Mrs. Henry Erickson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Delbert Park, Granger and Frederick Atkinson, Los Angeles; a brother, Frederick Atkinson, Canada; 30 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Elysian burial Gardens.
