Mada was born June 29, 1913, in Boyd County, Ky., a daughter of the late Grant and Maggie Dillow Broughton.
She was a member of Westwood Enterprise Baptist Church and former co-owner of Thompson's Grocery and later Westwood Market.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce "Jitter" Thompson Wilburn; six brothers, Charles Edward Broughton, Bill Broughton, Roy Broughton, James Broughton, Earl Broughton and Russell Broughton; and three sisters, Otie Porter, Opal Reola Broughton and Betty Johnson.
She is survived by a son, Billy Ray Thompson and his wife, Dottie, of Lexington, Ky.; two sisters, Mary Stollings of Westwood, Ky., and Janice Hennecke of Naples; four grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
